It has been a longing aspiration of mine to learn chocolate work. Not just the simple stuff, I generally don’t do simple., naturally I am drawn to and attracted to beautiful edible forms of art.
Watching the Channel 4 TV series The Bake Off – The Professionals, I always admired those very skilled pastry chefs who make amazing chocolate and sugar show pieces. I had to give it a go at some point, and now I finally felt ready.
After watching endless content YouTube, Instagram and Pin Interest for inspiration, I definitely learnt a lot. A while ago I did a small chocolate sculpture for my friends parents 50th anniversary, but I wanted to go big and learn the tricks of the trade straight from the professionals. I came across a day class in London to learn how to do this chocolate show piece. I can categorically say, that I definitely enjoyed it. The plan is to do more and push my skills as far as I can go, especially the chocolate flowers. Chocolate sculptures make stunning centrepieces for special occasions, which will definitely “wow” your friends and family.
What you see is what I produced on the day and I was proud of my efforts! Feel free to let me know what you think. Leave a comment, like or even share.
